Position Title: Deputy Plant Manager / Process Engineer.

Job Type: Full time.

Location:  Al Bureij Wastewater Treatment Plant, Gaza.

Reports to: The Plant Manager.

Contract Duration: One year (Renewable).

Working Schedule: 45 hours/week, 6 days/week.

Job Summary

The Deputy Plant Manager shall be in charge of the laboratory and the monitoring of wastewater and sludge quality. He/she will advise the Plant Manager on the operation of treatment processes to achieve the optimum performance and compliance with proposed wastewater standards.

Essential Functions:

Working with the data gathered from various staff of the plant such as the Operations Engineer, SCADA Operators, Laboratory Personnel, Operations and Maintenance Managers in order to manage and operate the plant.

Job Description:

As for the Plant Manager as applicable but including:

• Process inspection and initiations.
• Adjustment of process.
• Recognition of operational defaults.
• Operation of the plant and equipment in accordance with operations manuals.
• Instrument reading and interpretation.
• Identification of opportunities to increase efficiency and implementing the same for economic benefit.
• Supervision of the laboratory.
• Establishment of laboratory testing procedure and plans in accordance with the regulations in force and the operation and maintenance manual.
• Establishment of laboratory logs.
• Identification of operations faults and making adjustments to process.
• Dealing with system emergencies.
• Maintaining process records and chemical stocks including the timely ordering of chemicals.
• Keeping correct records.
• Oversees the implementation and monitoring of the Site Health and Safety Plan.
• Oversees the upkeep of the Site Accident Book

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a field of engineering (Civil, Process, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemistry). Master’s in sanitary is a plus.
• Seven (7) years of relevant experience in a similar position.
• Knowledge of all wastewater treatment plant processes in detail.
• Experience in personnel responsibility
• Computer proficient (Microsoft Word and Excel etc.).
• Lives in Gaza strip.
• 45 years of age or less.
• Driver’s license is a plus.
